Marrakech to Erg Chigaga desert tour 3 days with camel trek. Pick up at your Hotel/Riad then we travel to the southern part of the High Atlas Mountains. Crossing a spectacular pass Of Tizi-n-Tishka (2260m alt). We will visit Kasbah Ait Benhaddou (listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO), the most famous authentic Berber village for making movies in Morocco such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiators, Prince of Persia…. The city of Ouarzazate is only 30 km from this ancient village where there are the Taourirte Kasbah. Then we cross the lunar landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains before we reach the oasis of Agdez. After we will drive aLong Draa Valley admiring the palm groves and the old tribal Ksours. Zagora oasis is the last stop for today, composed of more than 100 thousand palms overnight Zagora Hotel or Riad.

This Morning we drive about 18 km south of Zagora to expLore Tamgroute, it’s used to be the last village before the desert and has an old craft of making green pottery. The whole village is made of mud-hay breaks, a smart way to resist the hot weather in the summer about 45C. In the same village, there is an old library of books and manuscripts of mathematics, theoLogy, astroLogy, etc. (one of the ancient books dates from the 13th century). Afterward, we will head the dunes to Erg Chigaga. A getaway to calm and charming Sahara Berber camp in the middle of nowhere only the dunes and the stars at night!.

The last day we carry on our tour through the desert dunes of Erg Chigaga and vast off road to Foum-Zguid. Afterward, we drive to the Berber village of Taznakht. It is where we have so many associations of women for making the famous Berber carpets with its different technics of working (weaving-knotting-embroidering). We head again to the High Atlas Mountains. End of our tour in Marrakech.
