Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah Day Trip from Marrakech Through the High Atlas Mountains. We will pick up you at your hotel/riad in the morning. ALong the way through to the mountains, we will stop anytime you want to take photos and admiring the views in High Atlas Mountains, crossing a spectacular pass of Tizi-n-Tishka (2260m alt). The Authentic Berber village of TeLouet, once of the seat of the Glaoui rulers of this part of the Atlas and Southern Morocco, only 21 km off the main road from Marrakech to Ouarzazate, just past the top of Tizi -n- Tichka – sits pretty much in a valley behind Morocco’s, second highest mountain pass so it’s up pretty high in the mountains. Therefore, is an excellent spot to escape the summer heat – usually several degrees cooler or more than the heat of Marrakech and Ouarzazate.
Ait Ben Haddou & TeLouet day trip from Marrakesh via the high atlas mountains: Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou; After 3 hours driving and before Ouarzazate, we will arrive at Ait Ben Haddou (Kasbah), where you can experience the history and drama of old Morocco. The ksar, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls, which are reinforced by corner towers. Ait Ben Haddou, in Ouarzazate province, is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco. Time to walk inside kasbah World heritage site by UNESCO, the most famous authentic Berber village for making movies in Morocco (Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Prince of Persia….). After time lunch in a restaurant in Ait Ben Haddou, we will drive back to Marrakech through the high atlas mountains.
